Commitment, a sculptural work by Nikola Stanchev created during the pandemic, turns into а point of intersection between the heroic deeds of deceased medics, creative duty and the various perspectives on those issues.

MIHAIL VENKOV graduated in Cinematography from the S.A. Gerasimov All-Russian University of Cinematography, Moscow, in 1975. Between 1975 and 1992, he was employed as a cameraman and film director for Ekran TV Film Studios; and in 1993, as a film director at Bulgarian National Television. His documentary, ‘Meetings with Peter Dimkov’ won him Best Documentary, Directorial Debut and the Critics’ Awards at the 1981 Golden Rhyton, Plovdiv. Selected filmography includes ‘Character Requires Life-long Building’ (1988), ‘Iliya Beshkov’ (1991), ‘Veneta’s Choice’ (2000), ‘Spirit and Matter’ (2014), the ‘Living Songs’ series, and fifty-three documentaries for ‘The Human Comedy’ TV series.
