Antônia Jardênia da Silva’s personal story as a climate refugee from Brazil, forced to leave her native village for the city in order to take care of her child, who is suffering from microcephaly. The film follows the drought period in Northeast Brazil, the epidemic of Zika fever transmitted by mosquitoes, and Jardênia’s attempt to feel at home in her new location.

MARIA STANISHEVA is a film director/producer and the founder of ANIMADOCS, an independent film production house based in both Sofia and NYC. A graduate of Sofia University, Central European University and New York Film Academy’s Documentary Filmmaking Program, she specialised in social documentaries, animation and experimenting with mixed genres.
