Georgi Georgiev-Getz is one of the greatest and most active actors of the socialist era. A pillar of the National Theatre, where he performed from 1953 until he was quickly retired in 1992. He joined the troupe of the “Barbukov” theatre, which toured the country in a small van, performing in cold and uncomfortable venues, yet always with the exceptional love of the audience. On April 9, 1996, during a performance in Stara Zagora, Gets suffered a severe stroke and fell unconscious. After five months, he sadly passed away. Is he forgotten today?
