‘Invisible Victims’, a documentary presenting the personal stories of children who began using drugs as early as the age of 12 or 13, and are struggling against their harmful effects at the Open Eyes Association in Varna. In group therapy sessions, these children learn responsibility, empathy, respect, mutual help, and develop their own skills and talents. The production reveals the devastating power of drugs, presenting cases of youths who succumb to mental illnesses, addicted mothers who give birth to babies with serious health problems, and parents who use drugs alongside their children.

RUMIANA ANGELAKOVA obtained a Master’s in Sound Engineering at the St Petersburg University of Film and Television in 1991. In 1996, she graduated in Television Direction from the Southwest University in Blagoevgrad, in the class of Mikhail Meltev. She has worked for the Blagoevgrad TV Centre of Bulgarian National Television since 1992 and has directed more than 50 documentaries and arts and music programmes.
