“A Piece of Bulgaria” tells the story of the Bulgarian diaspora in Chicago, who created and continue to sustain the largest Bulgarian school abroad — the “Little Bulgarian School.” The film portrays a community that preserves and passes on Bulgarian spirit, history and traditions to future generations.
NIKOLAY URUMOV graduated from the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts “Krastyo Sarafov” with a degree in Film and Television Directing in 2021. His short films “INGA” and “The Immortal” have won awards at more than 15 international festivals. His debut documentary “Nothing Can Stop You” premiered in 2025 at Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture. He is also the producer of “Petya of My Petya”, “Women Out of Use”, and “Bulgaria Amore Mio”.
