In the not-so-distant past, two young artistes went on their way, leaving Bulgaria in search of dreams to which they were determined to devote their lives—an art, one to which they aspired. Among the bohemia of the Bulgarian artistic circle in Paris, through the music of the Russian cabarets shortly before they slid into obscurity, they encountered the legendary personalities who feature in this film.

ANDREY CHERTOV made his debut as a director in 2013 with ‘Rainy Day’, a documentary dedicated to the artist and musician, Ognyan Videv. An original and unique jazz musician, talking about his hometown Plovdiv through his music, meets with his friends who share their nostalgia for those Filibe [Turkish for Philippopolis] times when everyone’s spirit was free. ‘Silent Movie’ (2017), Andrey Chertov’s feature film, was inspired by the music and oeuvre of composer and pianist Milcho Leviev.
