The 1950s. Behind the Iron Curtain, art – especially theatre – became a propaganda tool of the regime. ‘The Burgas Experiment’ by the Theatre of Like-Minded Artists turned into a phenomenon dangerous to ideological orthodoxy – the first act in the slow but inevitable collapse of socialist realism.

VLADIMIR LYUTSKANOV graduated in acting and directing from NATFA and specialized in directing at the Silvio D’Amico Academy in Rome. Since 1986, he has worked actively in television as presenter and director. Between 1999 and 2019 he co-authored and directed the BNT documentary series Smart Village  and several feature-length documentaries produced by Vip Media Film.
