The film tells the story of Colonel Tsvetan Mumdziev and his actions in saving thousands of Bulgarian Jews, but also Jews of Western Thrace, from deportation and transportation during the Second World War. His merits were recognised even by the People’s Court, but have been deliberately buried into oblivion for the Bulgarian public and the world.

VLADIMIR SHTERIANOV was born in Sofia in 1965. In 1989, he graduated in Acting from the Krastyo Sarafov National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts and, in 1993, in Film Direction from the Roskino Advanced Course for Scriptwriters and Directors. His filmography includes ‘Shooting Angels’ (1993); ‘Destiny’ (2001); ‘The Fire of Love’ (2008); ‘The White General’ (2008); ‘The Show Goes On’ (2010); ‘Spouses’ (2010–12); ‘Lord: The Policeman Dog’ (2013, TV series); ‘Silent Hunting’ (2014, TV series); ‘Labyrinths of Love’ (2015); ‘The Legend’ (2016); and ‘White Eagles’ (2020).
