To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the bloody assassination of Zoran Djindjić, the first democratically elected Prime Minister of Serbia, Bulgarian National Television aired a documentary, ‘The Third Bullet’. The film takes us back to the tragic day, 12 March 2003, when the murder took place. Djindjić was considered an intellectual, having studied philosophy in Germany before returning to his homeland with a mission—to Europeanise and democratise Serbia. It is no coincidence that, in political circles, he was defined as a reformer, and ‘Djindja’ himself enforced the understanding that ‘We have no opponents—neither America nor Russia are our enemies—we have partners!’

The Zemun Clan was suspected of assassinating the Serbian prime minister, but, to this day, the real instigators have not been punished.

EMIL MINKOV graduated in Computer Media Technologies, before obtaining a Master’s in Film and Television Direction from the New Bulgarian University. In 2005, he began working in the TV industry and, in 2010, he was appointed a director at Bulgarian National Television. For the past ten years, he has also been involved in journalism and documentaries, as well as sports events, news, and elections.
