The world-famous animation and visual artist, Theodore Ushev, travels through time and space—from the iconic 1968, the year he was born, to the present day; from Kyustendil, his birthplace in Bulgaria, to cosmopolitan Montreal in Canada; from the beautiful eyes of a female circus performer, to the graffiti mysteriously appearing at night in Sofia; from his first student short animation, to his Oscar nomination, his multiple major international festival awards and the highest recognition of his colleagues: the world’s most influential animator of the first two decades of the 21st century.

BORISLAV KOLEV graduated in Film Studies and specialised in Film and TV Direction from the Krastyo Sarafov National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts. His debut documentary, ‘Stoichkov’ (2012), broke box-office records and was screened around the world. It was followed by award-winning documentaries including ‘Salto Mortale’ (2015); ‘The Eye of the Minotaur’ (2017); and ‘Rock’n’Roll’ (2019). His latest feature documentary is ‘Theodore Ushev: Unseen Connections’. His films have been shown at festivals, winning national and international awards, and have had worldwide sales.
