A family story with a dramatic plot, depicting important historical events whose outcome echoes loudly in the new millennium. The destiny of Prof. Dimitаr Atanasoff, a US alumnus and a significant contributor to world science, and that of his multinational family, reflects the fate of hundreds of people representing the Bulgarian social elite ruthlessly swept away by the Communist coup d’état on 9 September 1944.

ANTOANETA BACHUROVA graduated in German Philology before specialising in Radio Journalism at St Kliment Ohridski University in Sofia. Between 1985 and 1991, she was an editor in the Art Department of the Hristo Botev Programme, Bulgarian National Radio. One of the founders of Standart newspaper, she was editor and head of the Culture Department. In 1998, she wrote and co-hosted the VIP Process TV show on Bulgarian National Television. In 1999, she became scriptwriter and producer of ‘Clever Village’, an art documentary series. Executive producer of the feature film omnibus ‘8′19″’ (based on novels by Georgi Gospodinov), best TV feature film laureate of the 2018 Golden Rose Feature Film Festival. Screenwriter and producer of the documentary, ‘The Flâneur’ (2016), Grand Prize of the International Jury in the Best Bulgarian Documentary category at the Master of Art IFF. Screenwriter, director and producer of the documentary ‘The Pavel Koychev “Temptation”’.

VLADIMIR LUTSKANOV graduated in Acting from Krastyo Sarafov National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts, before specialising in Theatre Direction under Prof. Krikor Azaryan, and at the Accademia Nazionale d’Arte Drammatica Silvio d’Amico in Italy. He was a full-time actor at the Ivan Vazov Theatre and Bulgarian Army Theatre (1989–2006). In 2001, he became editor-in-chief of the Culture Department of BNT. Between 2006 and 2020, he was the director of the Nikolay Binev Youth Theatre. His selected filmography as scriptwriter and presenter includes the TV series ‘7 Days for You, Children’, ‘Fabrication—Consideration’, ‘Telefairia’ on BNT (1985–96). Co-author and director of some 200 episodes of ‘Clever Village’, an art documentary series. Executive producer of the feature film omnibus ‘8′19″’ (based on novels by Georgi Gospodinov), best TV feature film laureate of the 2018 Golden Rose Feature Film Festival, and director of the novella, ‘The Late Gift’. Director of the documentary films ‘The Flâneur’ (2016), Grand Prize of the International Jury in the Best Bulgarian Documentary category at the Master of Art IFF; and ‘The Pavel Koychev “Temptation”’.
