This is a story about the faces behind the masks, about the doctors we all applaud, the disease and the people behind the statistical data on coronavirus. A month after the national lockdown was announced and 35 days after the first confirmed case of coronavirus in Bulgaria, journalist Maria Cherneva managed to enter the COVID-19 ward, Pirogov Emergency Hospital, Sofia. MARIA CHERNEVA studied microbiology and biochemistry. As a journalist, she has for almost three decades now dealt with social and health issues for BNT. She has made a number of documentaries receiving twice the journalism Valia Krushkina Award.
