The Creative Europe MEDIA Programme is organizing an information panel as part of the 27th Festival of Bulgarian Animated and Documentary Cinema.

Bulgaria has been a member of the MEDIA Programme since 2002, and for 21 years now Bulgarian producers, distributors, cinemas, festivals, online platforms, and training initiatives have had strong opportunities for European support.

Over the past three decades, the Creative Europe MEDIA Programme has invested more than €2.6 billion in project development, promotion, and the distribution of European works both within Europe and beyond. This sustained support contributes to the sector’s competitiveness, enriches European cultural diversity, and encourages cross-border audiovisual projects. Compared to the 2014–2020 period, the planned Creative Europe budget of €2.4 billion for 2021–2027 represents a significant increase, with the MEDIA sub-programme accounting for €1.4 billion of this amount.
